The 'on again', 'off again' and 'unsettled' springtime weather that has been commonplace across the Buffalo-Niagara region will continue to unfold for the work week ahead.
There are even some chances of widespread frost in the forecast, as well.
Mother's Day will be mainly dry, but cooler, National Weather Service forecasters say. Temperatures will peak in the 50's, maybe a few spots hit 60 Sunday afternoon.

The wild temperature swings that the Northeast have endured since April show no signs of ebbing through mid-May, as AccuWeather meteorologists say conditions will remain on the cooler side through this week.
"For those itching to get out in the garden and get plants in the ground across the Midwest and parts of the interior Northeast, waves of chilly air diving southward out of Canada through the middle of this week may put those plans on hold," warned AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham.
With clear skies overnight into Monday, lows will dip into the 30's and provide a chance for some scattered frost.
By Tuesday morning, this zone will shift east, encompassing the eastern Great Lakes, the interior Northeast and the Catskills to West Virginia. Even the near-suburbs of some big cities like Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh will be at risk of a damaging frost if winds are light enough.
A hard freeze can even occur in some sheltered valleys in northern Ohio, northwestern Pennsylvania and upstate New York, severely compromising any gardens already planted.
Lows early Tuesday will drop into the low to mid 30's areawide, with some upper 20's likely in the colder Southern Tier Valleys. This will bring widespread frost and freeze conditions Monday night through Tuesday morning.
In between and beyond the chilly nights through midweek, temperatures will only manage to top out in the 50's and 60's for most, about 10-15 degrees below average for mid-May.
Unsettled weather returns by the middle of the week with periods of rain Tuesday night through Thursday.
