Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Sports Commission says this weekend's NHL Draft, which begins Friday, is expected to bring in $3.8 million in economic impact for the city of Buffalo. Around 10,000 people are expected to be at the event, many of them from across the border, with the Maple Leafs having the top pick.
Freight carrier Estes Express Lines will celebrate the opening of its new Buffalo service center Thursday afternoon in Tonawanda. The company is upgrading to a 171-door service center (up from 43) with 116,000 square feet of dock area and 8,000 square feet of office space. The service center is located at 66 Milens Road in Tonawanda.
Catholic Charities of Buffalo is restructuring its finance department. Ryan Undercoffer has been named chief financial officer. Robert Hasselbeck will serve as controller.
