Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The New York Store, a staple in the Village of Lancaster, will soon close its doors for good after 97 years in business. Owner Alan Kurtzman announced his retirement in a Facebook post. His grandfather opened the store in 1929. A "Retirement Sale" is underway now.

Kids Escaping Drugs will host its 7th annual "Rise for Recovery Walk" Saturday, September 12th at Canalside. The 1.8 mile walk recognizes those who lost their lives to drug overdoses, celebrates people in recovery and raises awareness for substance abuse.

Canal Bank is opening a new branch at the corner of Union Road and Center Road in West Seneca. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held the morning of Tuesday, August 11th as construction on the bank is underway. Canal Bank currently has a branch on Main Street in Williamsville.
