Tops/Price Chopper merger a done deal

The FTC has finally given its approval to the proposed merger between Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Markets. Under terms, the the two companies will be managed by their own separate management teams, but will be owned and overseen by a new parent company, Northeast Grocery, Inc. The approval requires the companies to divest themselves of 12 stores - none of which are in Western New York. The two independent grocery chains have a collective footprint in the Northeast of nearly 300 stores.

According to Business First, WellNow Urgent Care has opened a third location dedicated to Covid-19 testing.  PCR testing for asymptomatic patients can now be done at 5495 Sheridan Drive in Williamsville.  Testing is still being done at Dent Tower on Sheridan Drive in Amherst and Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.
