Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Workers at six nursing homes in Western New York will head to the picket line this week as negotiations continue for a new union contract. Demonstrations begin today at Elderwood facilities in Lockport and Williamsville. More are planned this Wednesday at Autumn View, Garden Gate, North Gate and Seneca Manor. There's 4,000 unionized nursing home workers across Allegany, Cattaraugus, Erie and Niagara counties. The deadline for a new contract for most of them is April 30th.

Gas prices in Buffalo haven't moved since last Monday, staying at an average cost of $3.07 per gallon. Gas ticked up 3 cents statewide over the last week at $3.14.
