Tonawanda Police said that Marc J. Paluch, 37, passed a stop sign at Delaware and Linwood, which caused his SUV to collide with a pickup truck that was driven by a Cheektowaga man. The truck then crashed into a tree on the property of a home at Delaware and Milton.

Paluch told offers that he was late taking his daughters to school. Officers then learned that Paluch's drivers license is suspended because of a previous impaired driving charge. He has since been charged with reckless driving, passing a stop sign, driving with a suspended license, and failure to yield at an intersection.

The injured girl was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital with right arm pain and a head bump. Police said only the girl was injured.

Paluch is being held for court.
