Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WBEN) - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) says weather permitting, one lane of the Southbound bridge carrying Interstate 190 over Niagara Falls Boulevard in the City of Niagara Falls will re-open to traffic Saturday morning.

Additionally, NYSDOT will re-open the following on-ramps to I-190 Southbound on Saturday:

- Porter Road/Packard Road
- Witmer Road

These ramps had been temporarily closed to help manage traffic flow during the full closure of the Southbound bridge.

Initial emergency repairs to the bridge, which was struck by a commercial truck carrying a shipping container last month, have been successfully completed ahead of schedule.

NYSDOT says the second Southbound lane on the bridge will remain closed until additional permanent repairs are completed.
