BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) A Quiet Place 2 gets pushed back again. The horror movie filmed in Western New York in 2019 and directed by John Krasinski has been added to the growing list of 2021 films that have been delayed due to the pandemic. The new release date is September 17, 2021.
A Quiet Place: Part 2 was originally scheduled for March 20, 2020 and was one of the first films to be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was initially pushed to September 2020, and then to April 2021. However, with movie going slow to return in the US, Paramount has opted to shift the film again.
Most of the movie was filmed in Western New York, including scenes in Akron, Grand Island, and North Tonawanda.

Currently, 65% of North America's cinemas have closed or have struggled to remain open during this time.
A Quiet Place 2 is not the only new released being delayed. The latest James Bond sequel, "No Time to Die" has also been pushed back from April to October. Sony Pictures Ghostbusters: Afterlife will now hit theaters on November 11, 2021
