Air conditioner sales as hot as the weather

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) With record high temperatures, stores have been reaching high sales of air conditioning units.

Valu's Ryan Meissner says his stores have been selling all sorts of things to keep folks cool. "We've been selling all sorts of window units, portable fans, all sorts of different hoses, even down to kid pools," says Meissner. He says the home AC unit is most effective. "You're going to get a lot cooler air coming in, and you can kind of lower the temp throughout the room versus just a fan on a desk or something like that," explains Meissner

He adds installing them is a snap. "For the window fan units, it's really just lift the window, it's kind of plug and play, and I believe the AC window units are the same thing," notes Meissner.

Meissner says his stores were ready for the heat. "We've been pretty stocked up and we've been doing well with that," says Meissner. "I'm sure after this weekend we'll probably start running low, but for now we kind of prepared for for a hotter summer, and hasn't been too hot up until now, so we're kind of, we're ready for everyone to come rushing in, and then, yeah, we'll see, we'll see what the rest of this summer brings."
