Amherst police make arrest in possible road rage incident Thursday night

Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - An arrest was made Thursday night following an alleged road rage incident in the Town of Amherst.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, Amherst Police responded to the report of the incident in the 900 block of Millersport Highway.

Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old male passenger of an involved vehicle who had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper thigh. Officers rendered aid on scene, and the male victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center.

The alleged offender was located a short time later by Buffalo Police at his residence and, after a period of time, was taken into custody.

Keith Pritchett, 32 from Buffalo, was arrested and charged with Assault in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree. He is currently being held pending arraignment.
