AMHERST, N.Y. (WBEN).......The Amherst Planning Board will continue its review of new development that could as many as 160 townhomes within the Muir Woods community.
Up for site plan review at the planning board's Aug. 20 meeting, is the proposed Townhomes at Muir Woods development - set for a 17-acre parcel of vacant land just off of 770 John James Audubon Parkway and north of the University at Buffalo campus.
The project, which carries a $60 million development cost, is being jointly built by 770JJAP LLC - a joint effort between Ciminelli Development Co. and Ryan Homes.
The 770JJAP LLC partnership between Ryan Homes and Ciminelli, paid $2.03 million for the property, according to documents filled this spring in the Erie County Clerk's office.
Ciminelli and Ryan jointly developed the 148-house The Preserve at Muir Woods subdivision.
"We know there is a market for townhomes," said Paul Ciminelli, Ciminelli Development chairman.
The townhouses will vary in size and design, with units ranging in size between 1,334-square-feet and 1,460-square-feet.
Price ranges have yet to be determined.
Pending all the necessary Amherst approvals, construction will start next spring, Ciminlli said.
The entire complex will take between three years and four years to fully build out.
