Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man has pled guilty for his role in the killing of his girlfriend back in January of 2021.
29-year-old Andre Whigham pleaded guilty Thursday morning before Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony).
It was on or about the late evening of Jan. 29, 2021 into the morning of Jan. 30, 2021 when Whigham caused the death of his girlfriend, Tiara Lott, by strangling her with his hands inside of an upstairs apartment on Gold Street in the City of Buffalo. The 22-year-old victim was then reported missing by her family sometime later.
Several days later on Feb. 13, Buffalo Police found her body alongside railroad tracks near Wex Avenue in the City of Buffalo.
After escaping authorities for well over a year, Whigham eventually turned himself in for his crime committed back on May 2, 2022.
Whigham faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, April 14 at 9:30 a.m. EST. He continues to be held without bail.
