BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Two people from Cheektowaga were arrested for their alleged connection to Monday's quadruple shooting on Donovan Drive in Buffalo.

Dequan I Richardson and Jonay B. Robinson were both charged with six crimes, including criminal possession of a weapon and various drug charges.

The shooting happened on Monday night during a party that was attended by dozens, possibly hundreds, of people. Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said leftover fireworks from the Fourth of July were being used around the time the shooting happened. Four people were shot in that incident, including three men in their 20s and the 3-year-old boy who was riding his bicycle when he was shot in the head. The boy is currently on life support.

"As of right now, they are not charged with anything linked to the shootings," Flynn said.

However, the two are believed to have been connected to the shooting. Flynn said there was enough evidence from the criminal investigation to obtain a search warrant for Richardson's and Robinson's apartment on Slate Creek Drive. Their home was raided Tuesday and Mayor Byron Brown said those involved in the shootings were in custody on Wednesday.

Inside the apartment, police seized an illegal rifle and illegal handgun. They also found scales, cocaine, and materials to cut the drug.

Flynn declined to say if the guns found at the apartment was used in the shooting. He also refused to say what was learned at the crime scene which led to the raid.

Bail was set for the two at $175,000, though prosecutors sought for them to be remanded, which would have kept them in jail through their legal proceedings. The two will return to court on Monday morning for a felony hearing.

Anybody with information on the shooting is encouraged to contact Buffalo Police at 847-2255.
