Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - It's another sign of fall, as Frightworld gets ready for the upcoming scare season with auditions taking place this weekend. The goal for management is to find some 175 employees to hire.
What is general manager Trevor Feger looking for?
"We're really looking for people that aren't afraid to get out of their comfort zone," said Feger in an interview with WBEN. "People that are really willing to get in their character, that love Halloween and that just love scaring people."
Feger says there are five rooms that those who are hired will perform in.
"We have our eerie state asylum, so that's overrun by crazy patients. We've got our grind house, which is serial killers running amok. We've also got our night stalker's house so somebody's a little more like the lurk in the shadows. And then we have our carnival boneyard house, which is filled with carnival freaks and clowns," Feger said.
A fifth house will be unveiled next week.
Auditions take place at the old KMart on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo on Friday from 6 p.m.-to-10 p.m., Saturday from 12 p.m.-to-4 p.m. and then 6 p.m.-to-9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m.-to-5 p.m.
"What we're going to ask people to do, you're going to come in, you're going to kind of meet the team, fill out an application. If you're looking to be a scare actor or a line entertainer, you're going to need to do one of those auditions where you'll sit in front of our management staff and we'll have you act out a couple skit," Feger said.
There are non-performing jobs available too.
"We're also looking to hire for ticket takers, event staff, merchandise and concessions," Feger noted, as that will require just a quick interview.
No experience is necessary, with pay starting at minimum wage.
