BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A special meeting of the Cheektowaga Town Board will be held Wednesday to appoint a new Chief of Police.
On July 17, Police Chief Michael Sliwinski died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack. The loss left a deep hole within the department.
Assistant Chief Brian Gould has been serving as interim chief since Sliwinski's death.
On Wednesday, the town board will meet at 4:30pm to appoint Gould as the next Chief of Police.
