BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown lauded the soft opening of Braymiller Market, saying the reception to the opening has been phenomenal.
Braymiller Market offers fresh produce along with other local foods, a full deli, catering, and many groceries. It previously only had a location on Gowanda State Road in the Village of Hamburg. Its expansion into Downtown Buffalo was years in the making.
Despite Braymiller Market's opening in Downtown Buffalo, work still needs to be done on an adjacent apartment building at 201 Ellicott Street. The building is scheduled to have 201 affordable apartments. Brown expects the building to finish construction in November.
"Everything is on schedule," Brown said. "There's a lot of interest in living in the building. In fact, some of the employees at Braymiller Market will be living at 201 Ellicott Street."
Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation purchased the lot in 2019 for $2.3 million.
