Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man has been arrested nearly a year after he struck and killed a 64-year-old man in a hit-and-run accident in the Town of Cheektowaga.
Back on Feb. 26, 2022, Cheektowaga Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on Clinton Street under the I-90 bridge. The victim was identified as Paul Kitchen of Dearborn Avenue in Buffalo.
When first responders arrived, they attempted to give Kitchen medical treatment at the scene before being transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he later passed away from his injuries.
After an extensive investigation by Cheektowaga Police Officers, they were able to identify 32-year-old Frankie Hauser of Buffalo as the driver of the vehicle that struck Kitchen and fled the scene.
Hauser was arraigned on Tuesday in Erie County Court and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident Resulting in Death (Class "D" felony). He was released on his own recognizance.
