Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man will spend up to 15 years in prison for killing a pedestrian last year.
45-year-old Wendell Brooks was sentenced Wednesday for striking and killing 37-year-old Paache Spikes-Redding at William and Benzinger on July 17, 2025. Brooks admitted to driving off after striking Spikes-Redding without reporting to police.
He also hid his Tesla Cybertruck in a wooded area in Sloan, and removed a flash drive from the center console, which contained vehicle recording data.
Brooks pleaded guilty earlier this year to manslaughter, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting resulting in death, and tampering with physical evidence.
