Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A man was shot by a Buffalo Police officer Wednesday evening during an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven at Prospect Avenue and Connecticut Street on Buffalo's West Side.
Police say officers arrived at the store around 8:42 p.m. as customers. The robbery was already happening as officers walked in.
According to preliminary findings by Buffalo Police, the suspect shot the cashier and then fired at the officers as he ran from the store. One officer shot back.
The suspect, a male whose name and age isn't known as of now, ran southeast on Prospect, stole a vehicle and drove several blocks on Prospect before causing a multi-car crash near Massachusetts and Prospect.
The cashier and suspect were both taken to ECMC to be treated for apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. No serious injuries came from the crash.
Police say all details are "preliminary reporting of a rapidly evolving scene."
More details will be released when they're confirmed by Buffalo Police.
