Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Public School DIstrict will be closed to in-person learning on Friday due to inclement travel and weather conditions in the city.
In a statement from the district late Thursday night, extensive flooding in parts of the Buffalo and freezing temperatures overnight that will lead to icy and unsafe travel conditions will force Buffalo Public Schools to be closed to in-person instruction. Instead, school-based staff has been instructed to work from home and provide remote instruction for students.
The school district also says transportation provided by the school is canceled for Friday. However, Buffalo Public Schools will be open for after school activities for students, where they can utilize NFTA transportation to attend those activities.
All Central Office staff for the district are directed to report to work at their regular locations.
