"The air in the room is heavy. The emotion in the room is heavy. We all understand what we must do, but as a Board, as a 10-member team, we just want to take some of the air out of the room. We want to bring temperatures down," said Dr. Prophet-Bullock on Wednesday. "We have heard exactly what you have asked, in terms of giving us more time."
Dr. Prophet-Bullock says the district will have another meeting this coming Monday from 5:30 p.m.-to-7:30 p.m. at PS 94, West Hertel Academy.
"We understand the emotions behind this. We want to let you know that now because of the raw emotion in the room, we just want to make sure we're taking care of each other. Everyone's emotions, heartsets, mindsets are important. Every single last one of you are important, and you are important to the 10 of us up here," Dr. Prophet-Bullock added. "We heard you, we're pulling it. We will not be voting on it today."
