Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Plans were unveiled Saturday by the Buffalo Urban League for a new $25 million-plus mixed-use facility along Jefferson Avenue.
The Buffalo Urban League unveiled its plans on Saturday night at their annual gala. The project is slated to be developed between Dodge Street and Northampton Street in East Buffalo.
According to Buffalo Business First, the plans call for a 40,000 square-foot facility where the Urban League will call the location its headquarters, as well as for other programs and commercial space. There is also slated to be an affordable housing component added into the project at some point.
While there is no timeline, at this point, as to when the project will kick off, the new facility will allow the Buffalo Urban League to consolidate multiple sites around the city, including the 17,000 square-foot building the agency owns at 15 Genesee Street between Main Street and Washington Street.
The project is expected to be developed on multiple parcels of land, including for which the Urban League is finalizing a purchase agreement and city-owned parcels where the agency will pursue designated developer status.
