Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Zoo has a new attraction, debuting Himalaya the red panda on Thursday morning.
Himalaya is an 11-month-old female who comes to the Buffalo Zoo from the Greenville Zoo in South Carolina.

"We are thrilled to welcome our newest resident - Himalaya," said Buffalo Zoo President and CEO Lisa Smith in a statement Thursday. "She is an adorable ambassador for her species, which is in danger of extinction."
Himalaya is the Buffalo Zoo's second red panda, joining three-year-old male Mogwai. The Zoo's hope is that Himalaya and Mogwai will become a breeding pair.
Himalaya can be seen at the Vanishing Animals North section of the Buffalo Zoo.
