Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Catholic Health and CWA Locals 1133 and 1168, which represent more than 2,800 employees, have agreed to a tentative four-year contract extension.

Employees at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo and Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus are covered under the new contract.

According to Catholic Health, CWA will schedule a ratification vote in the coming weeks.

"I want to extend my sincere thanks to the bargaining teams for coming together and reaching this agreement," said Catholic Health president and CEO Joyce Markiewicz in a statement. "This is great news for our patients, associates, and the communities across Western New York that rely on Catholic Health for their care."

Terms of the agreement have not been released yet, though employees had been pushing for better wages, adequate staffing levels and time off.
