Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - The Deadline to register to vote is Friday, October 9.
There are many ways to register in Erie County, the most simple being to visit the Board of Elections website, print out the form, and make sure it is filled out and postmarked by the 9th. You can also register in-person at the DMV or Board of Elections office.
So far, efforts to encourage people to register to vote seem to be working. There are now over 600,000 registered voters in Erie County, something Republican Elections Commissioner Ralph Mohr said is unheard of.
"I've been election commissioner for over 27 years and we haven't exceeded 600,000 until this year," Mohr said. "It certainly is the most."
