Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - With less than two weeks to go until the Nov. 4 election, early voting is set to begin this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 25.

"Early voting begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and continues for nine days, until Nov. 2," said Erie County Republican Election Commissioner Ralph Mohr.

Mohr says there has been an overall increase in the use of early voting over the last several years.

Hours in Erie County are from 9 a.m.-to-5 p.m. on weekends, and 12 p.m.-to-9 p.m. on weekdays.

A total of 38 sites will be open in Erie County. A full list of the sites can be found here:

A lower turnout for local elections this year is anticipated, compared to gubernatorial and presidential elections.

"This year seems to be much quieter than we've seen in the past," said Mohr.

The marquee races in this election are for Buffalo mayor, and town supervisor in several first ring suburbs.

"Unlike election day, where you have to report to the polling place in your neighborhood, you can go to any one of the 38 early voting sites in the county. We do this so that it's convenient for everybody. You give the inspector your information and they will print the ballot that is appropriate for your jurisdiction."
