NEWSTEAD, N.Y. (WBEN)....The Town of Newstead has joined the $1 million club.
A three-bedroom, decade-old house at 11831 Clarence Center Road has become the first private residence, this year, in Newstead to sell for more than $1 million.
The 2,700-square-foot house sold for $1.3 million and was one of two $1 million-plus residential deals to close on Oct. 1, according to Erie County Clerk's data.
In the other deal, a five-bedroom, 5,700-square-foot house at 5010 East River Road on Grand Island sold for $1.03 million.
The Newstead and Grand Island deals were the 96th and 97th $1 million-plus home sales recorded this year in Erie County.
Erie County is on a pace to see 110 homes sell for more than $1 million this year - and that would set a new record, besting the 105 private residences that sold last year and went for north of the $1 million threshold.
Homes selling for more than $1 million is considered a key economic benchmark within the region's residential real estate industry.
Since 2024, more than 300 homes in Erie County have sold for more than $1 million.
