Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - We're not sure how much more the Young Street bridge in the city of Tonawanda can take.
It happened again late Friday, as a FedEx truck tried to pass beneath the now famous bridge in Tonawanda. To make matters worse, it was a tandem tractor trailed that met what has now become a common roadblock for trucks in the city.
In the past several years, numerous trucks have struck the bridge and warnings have been issued. The Mayor of the city even banned truck traffic on the section of the street indefinitely and had said the next step may be to place warning flashers approaching the bridge that warn of its clearance height.
No word yet from Tonawanda Police on any charges or injuries resulting from the incident or how extensive the damage to the bridge is.
