Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - 8-year-old San Francisco 49ers fan and cancer survivor Mia DeCamilla did not have the best experience at Sunday's Bills-49ers game, her first NFL game, after her father, Mike, says she was pushed down the stairs.
DeCamilla says the Bills have reached out in response to the incident.
"We spoke to the VP of guest experience or something like that. I believe they're going to be back in touch. They're just trying to, I guess, find out what happened, and how they can sort of mitigate these things from happening in the future. So kind of using this as a learning experience," said DeCamilla in an interview with WBEN.
Another notable name reaching out following the incident was former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown. It was Brown who drew a lot of attention to the young NFL fan online, and raised awareness for what happened.
"When this all happened, my wife was obviously upset, and she posted on Facebook, and we were just going to leave it at that. And the next day, we found out that Antonio Brown had retweeted or put it out there, and it got, like, 12 million people to see it. We were just in shock," DeCamilla admitted.
Mia's GoFundMe campaign has now reached over $20,000 following the events that transpired at Highmark Stadium last weekend.
