Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - Amherst Police have made four arrests in connection with a stolen car that crashed Friday morning. Police say they also recovered a loaded handgun during their investigation.
Police say the crash happened along the 990 South near the Sweet Home exit around 10:30 a.m. ET. Officers responded and located the vehicle, as well as the four occupants near Sweet Home Road and North Ellicott Creek Road.
According to police, thee of the individuals were arrested without incident, while the fourth was caught after a brief foot chase. Officers were able to confirm the vehicle was originally stolen out of Buffalo.
Police have charged 18-year-old Dominic Reynolds of Amherst, 18-year-old Mykell Hennigan of Buffalo, as well as two adolescent offenders with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon.
Reynolds and Hennigan were held to see a judge.
Meanwhile, the two adolescent offenders were transported to the Erie County Supreme Court to see a judge. One of the adolescent offenders also had an outstanding Erie County Family Court warrant.
