NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WBEN) – Four people were shot in the City of Niagara Falls on Thursday night and one person remains in critical condition.
The shooting happened at 10:20 p.m. near 19th Street and Welch Avenue. The ages of the victims were not released, though a spokeswoman for the city said a male victim who was driven to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center underwent emergency surgery for multiple gunshot wounds. He is currently in critical condition at ECMC.
The other victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
One of the individuals shot ran away because he had an active warrant for a previous shooting in that same area last week. He was caught and police recovered a loaded handgun.
An investigation into the shooting continues.
