Granville's attorney Terry Connors says Granville had lent his Tesla to a friend. "There was an individual who was an officer of Buffalo Biodiesel who DJ graciously loaned him his vehicle because he had a walking disability and he's having a difficult time. He took the car and unfortunately had an accident, and the police came to the scene, and they went through the vehicle, and searched the vehicle, and they opened up the trunk, and DJ's weapon, which was locked in the trunk, was then confiscated," says Connors.

The crash happened at Niagara Square in May.The Tesla belonged to Buffalo Biodiesel, a company that has contracted with Granville for security services. Granville was not in the vehicle when it was found.

Connors says the prosecution asked for 30 days to provide discovery. "We're waiting till we get rest of evidence, and the prosecution's asked for 30 days to provide that to us, so we won't be back until the end of July, beginning of August," explains Connors
