CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WBEN)....Law enforcement officials have charged a Cheektowaga man with multiple murder charges in connection with a crime spree he allegedly undertook Monday afternoon.

Charged is Saleh Q. Mohamed, 28, who allegedly shot and killed a convenience store clerk on Grant Street in Buffalo and then, allegedly, murdered his wife and twin two-year-old children in their Ellen Drive house.

Both incidents took place within one hour of each other, police officials confirmed.

In connection with the shooting of the clerk, Mohamed was charged with one count of murder in the second degree.

Mohamed allegedly shot the clerk in an attempted robbery attempt. The clerk was shot in the chest and died from his injuries just as police arrived around 2:30 p.m. The store is located on the 1000 block of Grant Street in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood.

Mohamed is also facing one count of murder in the first and three counts of murder in the second - all related to his alleged murder of his wife and children that occurred around 3:30 p.m., police said.

Mohamed was arraigned late Monday night in Cheektowaga Town Court. He is being held, without bail, in the Erie County Holding Center.

Police in both Buffalo and Cheektowaga are continuing with their investigation.
