Irving, N.Y. (WBEN) Over 200 neglected farm animals were seized Thursday from a barn in Irving in Southern Erie County.

"Cats, dogs, ducks, geese, chicken, sheep and goats. We also found a lot of deceased animals," said Bethany Kloc, Communications Manager at the SPCA Serving Erie County."

"It was a very sad site. So far we have removed 10 cats, 6 dogs, 46 chickens, 2 baby goats and 22 adult goats, and today we're going back and will rescue 75 more goats, ducks and geese."

Veterinarians are examining and evaluating the animals on-scene and at the SPCA.

Many of them are being placed temporarily with a network of local farms
that they have agreements with.

An unidentified couple who own the farm have been charged with multiple counts of neglect and unsanitary conditions. They have previously been charged and convicted of animal cruelty in different jurisdictions. They are due back in Town of Brant Court in December.
