Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Bragging rights are on the line for hundreds of companies and thousands of runners. The JP Morgan Corporate Challenge is happening Thursday at Delaware Park for the 43rd year.
"We have more than 7,700 participants this year," race director Melina Buck said on WBEN.
Over 250 companies are taking part.
"Moog is the biggest with 321 participants, followed by Buffalo Public Schools, Kaleida Health and Erie County Medical Center," Buck said. "We're excited to have the big teams, the small teams and companies of all sizes in the park tonight."
The race goes off at 6:25 p.m., but the post-race party goes until 10 p.m.
Buck says it's a very competitive race with runners vying for the top spots, and you can also race as a team, which is unique to the Corporate Challenge. Some take it more casually and walk the course.
Road closures begin late in the afternoon. Amherst Street will close at 5 p.m. between Nottingham and Colvin, while the Delaware exits from the 198 will also be closing at 6 p.m.
Participant parking is available at Buffalo State University with shuttles running back-and-forth to the park. See parking information HERE.
Street parking around Delaware Park itself will be limited.

The 3.5-mile course begins on Amherst Street to Delaware Avenue, and continues through the "S" curves. Runners turn around at Gates Circle, and continue on Delaware to Middlesex and enter the park via Meadow Road
to finish on Ring Road.
"We really lucked out with the weather," added Buck. "We're thrilled that it's a beautiful day. It should be about 70 degrees at race time."
