According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office, the school was cleared with the assistance of the Erie County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, Gowanda Police and emergency personnel.
Upon their investigation and sweep through of the school, it was determined there was no threat at any point to any of the students and staff, and the issue was considered a false alarm.
The school has since been turned back over to district officials, and classes have resumed to their regular schedule.
