Batavia, NY (WBEN) State Police say a man who recently moved to Kansas has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing 2 children multiple times in Genesee County.
Troopers say 41 year old Daniel Goodell recently moved to Wichita, Kansas, and was recently extradited to New York after his arrest. State Police Trooper James O'Callaghan says the charges stem from incidents between 2019 and 2021. "I know that sounds like (a long time) from 2019 to 2022, but these investigations do take a while when we have young victims, those victims being 13 and 12 years old at the time. And the investigation determined over a course of that timeframe that Goodell did, in fact, sexually abuse, you know, two children multiple times," says O'Callaghan. Goodell faces 12 counts of sexual abuse of a child and 12 counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
O'Callaghan says another investigation is in progress, as Genesee County Sheriff's Deputies investigate similar allegations with different victims.
O'Callaghan says there's a red flag with Goodell. "He is on the sexual registry as far as doing this in the past even before these arrests. So it's one of those things where I have an unfortunate feeling and sort of on investigators that this wasn't his last time and it definitely wasn't his first time in this brown of committing these crimes," says O'Callaghan.
