Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A former Tonawanda resident will get five years probation for killing a dog in his home earlier this year.
21-year-old Emery Kawski pleaded guilty to stabbing a 4-year-old Boston Terrier inside his home back on Feb. 24. City of Tonawanda Police found the dead dog inside a garbage tote nearby.
A necropsy determined that “Pop Rocks" died from multiple sharp-force trauma wounds to his abdomen. Analysis of a knife, recovered from the kitchen sink of Kawski’s home, tested positive for canine blood.
n March, Kawski pleaded guilty to one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals
An order was issued banning Kawski from owning, harboring, or having custody or control of any animals for the rest of his life.
