Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - It's been almost two weeks since a horrific fire at 69 French Street in Buffalo that killed two children.

Five other family members escaped.

Jayjay Rojas provided an update Friday on the recovery of his cousin's family in the hospital.

Jose Rodriguez, the father, has been discharged. He is staying with Jayjay.

Daughter Ava remains at Strong Memorial in Rochester. She is out of ICU and is expected to make a full recovery.

"Unfortunately mom, Jocelyn, (at ECMC) is not doing well. She's fighting against everything the doctors are doing. So they're going to basically paralyze her to let her body heal. She'll be able to hear, but not move," he said. "Unfortunately she still doesn't know that she lost two of her kids in the fire."

The family has postponed a funeral service until January in hopes that Jocelyn can recover and attend the funeral.

Rojas is caring for the two youngest family members who escaped the burning home: 4-year4old Rosie and and 6-year-old Noah.

"They went back to school yesterday. They still have night trauma," he added. "They associate bedtime with the fire."

A house has been donated to the family to live rent-free including electric and gas.

Rojas has created an Amazon wish list for the Rodriguez family. They have clothes and toys but need everything you would need for a house.

A gofundme campaign has also been established for the family.
