Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Investigators are looking into a pair of motorcycle crashes over the weekend that killed the operator of both motorcycles.

At around 10:30 p.m. in the Town of Burns in Allegany County, New York State Police received a call for an unoccupied motorcycle laying on the shoulder of State Route 70.

An investigation determined that a 2024 Kawasaki was traveling Westbound on State Route 70 and exited the roadway into the north shoulder, striking a signpost causing the operator to be ejected.

The operator, identified as 50-year-old Jayson Mess of Canaseraga, was located deceased in a ditch near the collision.

Then on Sunday afternoon in the Town of Aurora, a 38-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a crash in the area of 691 Mill Road.

A call came into the East Aurora Police Department at 12:42 p.m. reporting the crash. Police responded and found the driver, Bryan Bratos, with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics all attempted to give life-saving aid to Bratos, who would be pronounced dead at the scene.
