BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Neither COVID concerns nor a few raindrops were enough to stop hundreds of people from enjoying the annual Dyngus Day Parade in Buffalo, the first since coronavirus took hold of society.
"It was something," Anne Polino, one of the parade spectators, said. "At least it was something. I wasn't what we're accustomed to but it's starting to feel more normal."
The parade began on Broadway Street at Memorial Street and finished just a few blocks down the road, crossing the Broadway Market on its route. The actual parade itself lasted only about 15 minutes rather than 45 minutes.
Much of the familiar sites returned, from squirt guns to pussy willows.
