Buffalo, NY (WBEN) As thousands locally and across the country face the dilemma of getting a COVID vaccine or losing their job, one new website is now up and running to help those seeking jobs that don't require a vaccine.
The idea for the site was sparked by a Buffalo area worker who faced that very dilemma in his own work situation.
Jeff Radt founded JobsNotJabs.careers while staring at a vaccine mandate in his previous job. "My employer came up with a vaccine mandate after (President) Biden's news conference in September, and I was told if I didn't comply, I would be out of a job after five years, after promotions and achievements," says Radt.
"These are decent hard-working Americans who are the sole income providers for their families like me, so I felt I needed to take my 20 years experience with marketing and just try to help."
Radt says he couldn't sit on the sidelines especially when 24 state attorneys general were ready to file suit against the federal government. "The mandate amounts to nothing more than a federal press release. It doesn't have any teeth, and yet, various organizations across the country have fallen in line and complied. Their primary motivation is money, and that's unfortunate," believes Radt.
Radt says Jobs Not Jabs is like any other job board. "It's a job board designed for employers and professionals who believe in medical freedom," says Radt. Job Seekers can go there to find job postings from companies that do not require a COVID-19 vaccine to work there. "You can create a free profile, upload your resume just like you would any other job board, and you can search for jobs that don't have COVID-19 vaccine mandates," explains Radt.
Radt says he's up to 200 job postings so far, but none yet in WNY. "I have not had any from WNY yet," says Radt, while there have been postings from elsewhere in the state.
Radt says feedback has been positive, with folks gratified to see someone trying to do something positive to help.
