Alexander, N.Y. (WBEN) - New York State Police is looking into an incident on Monday that killed a 65-year-old woman in the Town of Alexander.
At around 9:50 a.m. EST on Monday, Troopers in Batavia responded to a report of a tree falling on a woman at WNY Gas and Stream Engine Association on Gillate Road in Alexander.
According to police, a tree was being cut down on the property and fell in the path of the 65-year-old female. Neighbors in the area called 9-1-1 and removed the tree with a tractor.
Troopers and medical staff attempted life-saving measures, but the woman succumbed to her injuries.
The scene was consistent with an accidental with death with no signs of foul play.
The victim's identity will be released at a later time.
