Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - In an ongoing effort to enhance safety standards in the community, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) has announced on Monday the launch of its new and improved "See Something, Say Something" app, also called the "See Say" app.

The See Say app offers riders a quick and discreet way to report suspicious activity to the NFTA Transit Police.

"We take the safety of our riders very seriously, and this will be another method to ensure that we have officers getting to people as soon as possible," said NFTA Transit Police Chief Brian Patterson in a statement.

"From station upkeep to security, this app is another tool in the toolbox for riders to communicate with us."

Users have two ways to contact Transit Police via the homepage:

1,) The "Report a Problem" button allows users to send text or photos and the camera flash is automatically disabled to ensure discretion. When reporting an issue, users can select locations and report categories to assist the NFTA Transit Police. Riders could send reports anonymously if they chose.

2.) The "Call NFTA Police" button will connect customers directly to the NFTA Transit Police.

The See Say app is free, and is available on both iPhone and Android platforms.
