Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) reminds those who travel by Metro Rail that above-ground services will be shut down due to construction between Sunday, Oct. 27 and Sunday, Nov. 24.

Crews will be working diligently to fortify track infrastructure, improve safety and enhance the travel experience for passengers.

The project reflects the NFTA’s dedication to providing reliable and efficient transportation that meets the needs of the community.

To minimize inconvenience to passengers, the NFTA will provide a shuttle service running every 20 minutes between the Allen Medical Campus and the Canalside Station. Transit employees will be on-site to assist passengers.

Between Oct. 28 and Nov. 8, the intersection of Main Street and Court Street will be closed, affecting Metro Bus routes 1, 2, 4, 69, 70 and 72.

Full regular service on both tracks will resume on Dec. 1.
