Orchard Park woman charged with DWI

Police say her blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - An Orchard Park woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated after a hit-and-run crash Sunday afternoon.

Police say they arrived at the scene at Southwestern and Countryside Lane at around 12:30 p.m. EST to find the driver of the striking vehicle had walked away from the scene. A man then told police his wife was the driver, and had returned to their apartment.

After field sobriety tests, police charged 62-year-old Karen Olday with DWI, aggravated DWI and several traffic offenses.

Police say Olday's blood alcohol content (BAC) was .19, more than twice the legal limit.
