Project in front of Delta Sonic on Transit to begin

Clarence, NY (WBEN) A new project along Transit Road in Clarence will mean serious traffic delays along a stretch for some time.

Benderson and Delta Sonic are working on their driveway at their Transit Road location. "There's going to be work to replace some of the existing asphalt in front of their driveway with concrete, and that is going to change the traffic pattern there a little bit," says Ryan Whalen of NYSDOT. Whalen says the two northbound lanes will be closed they're going to shift the northbound traffic into the center turning lane.

Whalen notes there's quite a bit of traffic on Transit already, so the shift will slow things down a little bit. "If you're driving in that area, ideally you plan ahead, give yourself a little more time to get from point A to point B. This will also affect southbound traffic a little bit there, because we are moving the northbound traffic into the center lane. That center turning lane will not be available for southbound traffic to turn. So it will have an impact a little bit in both ways, but primarily to the north on traffic," explains Whalen.

Work should last about a month..
