North Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian in the North Tonawanda Walmart parking lot.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 3:15 p.m. ET after receiving multiple reports of a person struck and pinned underneath a vehicle.
The initial investigation revealed that the 74-year-old female victim was exiting Walmart and crossing through the crosswalk, when a white SUV failed to stop and stuck her.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 56-year-old female driver is cooperating with officials as the investigation continues.
Walmart has since reopened their doors.
