
Akron, N.Y. (WBEN) - Empire State Development officials announced Thursday morning that Perry’s Ice Cream has completed construction of a new 20,000 square-foot facility, adjacent to its existing manufacturing facility which seeks to expand its production capabilities to meet the growth of the market.
The company, with facilities located in Akron, have also purchased new state-of-the-art machinery and equipment to better accommodate the growing demand for frozen Greek yogurt novelties - which Perry's current offers in several different variety's
Perry’s has committed to creating up to 15 new jobs at the 1 Ice Cream Plaza location, and as part of the expansion project, 370 jobs will be retained.
Empire State Development has assisted Perry’s by providing up to $365,000 in Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits in exchange for job creation commitments.
