Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The oldest working fireboat in the world was put to the test Saturday as the Edward M. Cotter responded to a brush fire along Gallagher Beach.
Buffalo Fire equipment on land was unable to reach the flames at the base of a break wall and the Cotter was dispatched to pour water on the flames.
Upon arrival, the Cotter was able to successfully douse the fire without further incident.
The Edward M. Cotter recently was celebrated on its 123rd anniversary of service in Buffalo.
Fire Buff NY (FBNY) was able to capture these images of the incident and share on their Facebook page.
